COMBUSTION CHAMBER
is shown with the piston's view of the EXHAUST
PORT WINDOW.
The
VALVE BOWLS are depicted here by the inside diameters of
the valve seat inserts (bronze colored) and the material immediately
beneath them, usually constituting the smallest cross-sectional area of
the port where increased velocity occurs where it's needed most for the
greatest average of valve lift flow performance; especially initial
valve opening. This area of port dimensions is THE PRECEDENT for all
port design, when combined with the expected Cubic Inches and designated
RPM of operations. (MEI Solid Model of a Chevrolet SB2-2 is
shown.)
