is shown here in TWO perspectives. The
GREEN HATCH
illustrates the SWEEP
across the lobe as 165°10', while our RED HATCH represents the BASE
CIRCLE, having no cam lift duration. In looking at this, remember that
you are seeing the actual CAM DEGREES illustrated, NOT "Crank Degrees,"
which is TWICE the number (because the cam is running at half the
speed). So the GROSS DURATION shown here would really be spoke of by an
engine builder or the cam company selling the cam, as twice that shown
above, or 330° (and 20 minutes, but it would simply be rounded off to
330).
