COMPRESSOR WHEEL is shown here without the Compressor housing, and differs
in size, shape and function from the
TURBINE WHEEL. Note the two
different size impeller blades. The smaller diameter, taller height is the
INDUCER,
which grabs the incoming air, while the larger diameter, shorter bottom blades
is the
EXDUCER, where all outflow of the compressed air from the INDUCER is forced
out into the manifold tube feeding the engine's throttle body, usually first through an
Aftercooler (not shown).
